Thursday's Thirst Quencher: Fruit Smoothie

Ahh, summertime.  How we love you.  Let us count the ways... The bounty of summer fruits is one of the reasons I love the summer. I love eating them as they are, whipping up a fruit salad or putting them in a smoothie. To close out our mid-summer "Thursday's Thirst Quencher" series (seen here, here and here) series we are leaving you with this luscious smoothie.

Ingredients:
1 Ripe mango
1 Peach
Pineapple chunks*
4-6 Strawberries
Splash of orange juice
Ice (optional)

After washing the mango and peach, peel and dice each, discarding the pits.  Wash strawberries thoroughly and pat dry.  Remove the leafy parts of the strawberry and slice them in half.

Put peach, mango, strawberries and pineapple chunks in the blender and top with a few ice cubes.  Add a splash of orange juice (start with a small amount and add more as needed to achieve desired consistency.

Blend all ingredients together.

*You can use any of your favorite fruits in this smoothie.  I have switched out the pineapple for 1/2 a banana which increases the creaminess factor.  You can throw in some blueberries or raspberries as well (I actually threw in a few random blueberries that I had).  I find the mango-peach base to be wonderful for adding almost any other fruit.

What's your favorite way to enjoy summer fruits? Do you bake them? Juice them? Grill them?
