Hubbz and I usually have steel cut oats for breakfast 2-3 times during the work week (I have yogurt on the other 2 days). These options have been great and we thought it would be fun to explore other healthy breakfast alternatives. This veggie frittata was perfect.

Red Play Day
It was 85+ degrees in DC, and a great day to spend in Georgetown. I paired my jean shorts with my Toms for a comfy-casual summer look.
Sunglasses: Chloe {similar here}, Blouse: H&M {old, but this is a great option}, Shorts: Gap {similar here}, Shoes: Toms {here}, Bag: Vintage Coach from mom {similar at Coach classics}

Parisian Stripes
As I prepared for my [work] trip to Paris, I noticed that most of what I was packing were stripes! As I try to transition from wearing just basic solids to incorporating more prints and patterns, stripes are a great bridge to get me there.

Safari Chic
When going out on safari, it's best to blend in with nature as much as possible and wear browns, khakis, and greens. So I decided to channel safari for this work look.

Madewell Style Session
We heard about the Madewell Style Session at the Georgetown, DC location and we knew we couldn't miss it! The lovely employees were gracious hosts and allowed us to take pictures of the pieces we put together. Madewell's summer collection is full of color, prints, and fun! Be sure to stop by your nearest Madewell (it may be online) and get bold for the summer!

Wing Chairs
I've been on a search for the perfect neutral wing chair for my living room. I have a very large couch so I didn't want anything too big, but I also wanted it to be functional for entertaining. After browsing for quite some time, I decided on #1 in the natural linen color because of it's reasonable price tag. Unfortunately, when I finally went to make my purchase, it was nowhere to be found!!! I literally wanted to cry. So I sulked for a fews weeks and just my luck, the chair reappeared! I didn't waste any time and purchased it on the spot.
Some reviews said it was uncomfortable so I almost expected it to feel like burlap and be hard as a rock. On the contrary, it's a great sitting chair. The lack of arms is an added bonus as two people can actually fit on the seat! And the nailhead trim gives it a stylish, modern look. I'm definitely pleased with my purchase.
Which chair do you like?

Leopard and Stripes
With the unpredictable spring weather we have been having in DC lately, getting dressed for work has not been easy. This striped pencil skirt is great for the office and I love teal for an office appropriate pop of color. Paired with leopard flats there's a little mixed print action going on too!
skirt: old navy (would love to try this), cardigan: jcrew (similar here), belt: jcrew (similar here), shoes: topshop (similar here)

Gluten Free Pop-Tarts
Since I've become gluten free I've been craving quick, filling breakfast options. I'll admit it: I loved Pop-Tarts! So when I stumbled upon this homemade Pop-Tart recipe from Smitten Kitchen, I knew I had to adapt it to make it GF. {Keep in mind that SK is a professional so mine look a bit more rustic...but tasty all the same!}

Scarves and Baubles
Vintage patterned scarf and metallic belt
Layered bracelets and a vintage brooch
Scarves, bracelets, brooches and belts, oh my! Accessories are a fun way to punch up your outfit, especially if you work in a conservative environment. We just love patterned scarves in fun colors and layers of bracelets or necklaces [not both at the same time though!].

Chalkboard Frame
A chalkboard frame is a great way to write a little love
note, jot down grocery items, announce the dinner menu…or anything you’d
like! I used a plain $2 thrift store
find that was actually an unattractive picture, but you can use something more
ornate if you want it to be “fancier”.
