Vintage Red Dress

During a trip to Charleston, SC last December I feel in love with this vintage red dress.  The size wasn't quite right so I took it to my favorite tailor in NYC.  He hiked up the waistline [the waist on the dress as purchased fell to my hips] and tailored the sides to fit.  I love the outcome!

Do you have a favorite vintage find?

  2. OMWord, your dress is divine! Love the print, LOVE the pleats. And it has a bit of sheer to it, no? Very nice.

  3. Oh my word that dress is DIVINE! What a find! (I'm a terrible thrifter - I usually end up finding dresses I love, trying them on, and discovering they are ill-fitting culotte onesies hahaha.) You look fantastic - this is perfection!

    1. Vivi and Dani, thank you! I'm pretty new when it comes to thrifting clothes. I think I had some beginner's luck :) Vivi, you're right, it is sheer with an slip underneath, good eye!

  4. LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress! Looks amazing. I rarely (if ever) go shopping in thrift shops or vintage stores -- I guess I'm not quite sure the best way to navigate them. I may have to give it a gander if I can come up with a find like that!
