Thursday's Thirst Quencher: Affogato

Have you ever had Affogato?  What is it you ask?  Well, Affogato is a delightful Italian treat of gelato drizzled with espresso, heavenly! The hubby and I love this sweet treat and wanted to try making it at home.  It was so simple!

Ingredients:
vanilla gelato
good quality espresso (I prefer Lavazza)
mint (optional)

Utensils:
ice cream/gelato scoop
dessert dishes
spoons or cocktail straws

Brew your espresso (we used our old school Bialetti).

Place 1-1 1/2 scoops of gelato into the dessert dishes.  Drizzle about 5 ounces of espresso over the gelato.  Garnish with a sprig of mint and serve with a spoon.
